| Nearby the Winterhafen the Lotsenturm (pilot tower) with a façade made of white stones became also newly erected. From here a pilot permanently watches the arriving ships, whilst the signal mast not far from it, shows weather signals, which inform the skippers and fishermen about atmospherical disturbances announced by the Naval Observatory in Hamburg. |
