In 1875 Memel was attached to the railroad network. The line to Pogegen was the only train connection until the first World War; and today is daily driven only once again by local trains. The nowadays most important train connection leads via Siauliai to Vilnius. Three long-distance trains (one of this is a night train) and three regional trains on this line run daily. The trains are operated by the Lithuanian state railroad (Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai). |
