At that place where now K ö n i g s w ä l d c h e n is situated, was on June 10th, 1802 the first coincidence of King Friedrich Wilhelms III with the Tsar Alexander I. For a lasting reminder for this historically important act, gardens were created here. It soon got a park-similar character, due to the careful maintenance by the local garden organization.
