At that place where now K ö n i g s w ä l d c h e n is situated, was on June 10th, 1802 the first coincidence of King Friedrich Wilhelms III with the Tsar Alexander I. For a lasting reminder for this historically important act, gardens were created here. It soon got a park-similar character, due to the careful maintenance by the local garden organization. There are gorgeous oaks, among this such of a pyramid-similar growth, dense pine groups, plane-trees (sycamore), white pines, chestnuts, lime trees with marvellous crowns. Moreover various bushes which are arranged around a big round place, adorned with tasteful flowerbeds. All that invites the promenaders to have a rest in their shadow. And a Swiss-style inn offers all for the needs of physical relaxation and refreshment.
