Die Fähre im Morgenlicht
. . . On the whole walk the hiker has the plantation to his left; to his right side a kind valley opens now, which the Dange river is flowing through with winding meanders. A path across the fields leads down to the Dange river, and a ferry takes us to the opposite river bank. We enter the park of  K l e i n - T a u e r l a u k e n, and we are on the historically memorable ground again. After few steps we reach an empty site, surrounded by high trees; it is the "Königsplatz" (king's place) and at the lower end of it the L u i s e n e i c h e stands.
In the summer 1807, Queen Luise almost every day has gone here with her important spouse, often accompanied by the royal children. They drank tea or enjoyed a dinner, namely under that oak, which spread its branches far across the place at that time. And this oak still seems to be willing to withstand all weathers for many years, even though it lacks its lower branches already. The "Oberhofmeisterin" of Queen Luise, the Countess Voss, writes July 19th, 1807 into her diary*: » Had dinner in Tauerlauken, as always. And gone for a walk under the trees, long time into the night.« On July 26th: »The Majesties . . . went to Tauerlauken and returned by the water route.« etc.
