The Memelers and the strangers most frequently do visit the "Sandkrug", which is reachable within few minutes from the "Karlsbrücke" by the ferry. The Sandkrug Spa Hotel has beautiful gardens, concerts, tennis courts etc.. Nearby the "Historic old Sandkrug". The terrace of the Sandkrug Spa Hotel offers marvelous panoramas towards the mainland's shore.



From Sandkrug neat promenades are leading to the sea. Through coniferous- and deciduous forest is the 30 m high fixed dune "Hagens Höh" reachable, and northern to Süderspitze (along the lagoon promenade). There is an old fort. The northernmost end of the Curonian spit is protracted by a mole, which stretches into the sea. The Sandkrug's beach as well as the Süderspitze's beach is broad and stoneless. The economy of the spa hotel is managed by the experienced and active Mr. Müller, who not only knows how to culinary delight his guests, but them also tastefully entertains.
