45 000 Mk. were invested for the former barracks' purchasing, together with eight "Morgen" of garden and field, then it became adapted and could be opened on November 6th, 1908. This wrote Sembritzki in 1918. And further: Presently are five deaconesses acting at the institution, supported by four housemaid and a janitor; the number of the fosterlings amounted to 94 in 1913. Of these were 34 in the old people's home. These paid a monthly hospital and nursing charge (graded to three classes) by themselves; furthermore 33 poor persons from town, 35 from the region, and 2 from the "Vaterländischen Frauenverein" in "Werden" were nursed here. Seven rooms of the building's north wing are for the usage by the baby nursery free of charge. 29 little apartments in the west wing with 2 rooms and kitchen are arranged for to mitigate the housing shortage. |
