Two historically memorably and due to their natural beauty lovely destinations are northwardly of the town to the right of the avenue which is leading to the Russian border: the one is "Königswäldchen", which was named after the first meeting of the King Friedrich Wilhelm III with the Tsar Alexander I. on June 10th, 1802, and the other is "Tauerlauken". "Wieners Promenade" a walkway with trees of a venerable age and 5 kilometers length, which is maintained from the bequest of the merchant Wiener, runs next to the avenue and leads the hikers to the two mentioned places. |
