The picture shows a view from the residential building "Am Wasserturm 1-6" to the war-affected gasworks (Photo taken May 1961).
The picture below (from 1967) shows that the water tower had lost its original appearance by the effects of WWII, but the tower apparently still existed many years after war.
At the end of the year 1967, the majority of the ruins of the gas and water plant was demolished.
